Every horse is different and has individual ways of thinking. When working with a horse you use the least amount of pressure needed to get a horse to listen to you. If a horse does not listen to what you are asking you may not be using strong enough cues or you may need to change the way you are asking to get the results you are looking for.

A horse, just like our children, and our faithful dogs are much more happier if they have rules and boundaries that are set and understood. With these boundaries set, there is a lot less confliction over who is boss and a strong loving friendship will form.

You may be surprised at how many problems can be minimized just by changing the type of feed the horse is eating. Changing from a hot to a cooler feed may calm him down and let him concentrate on his lesson better.

Some horses have had a few wrong messages sent to them, or have misunderstood what they were being told. They need correct, understandable instructions to help them work through their problems.
